Tourist numbers are returning to pre-pandemic levels across Europe, with the Mediterranean countries benefiting the most. This improvement in tourism should play a crucial role in the resilience of growth in Southern Europe, whose economies are particularly dependent on tourism. This dependence leads to a significant distortion in terms of productivity compared to the rest of Europe, exacerbated by demographic challenges.
